Anyone ever hit a fence while backing?

    The dock was one of those jacking jacking jacking the the trailer in straight then fix it. The thing is, even with the trailer aligned there was about a foot of space between the tractor and fence to maneuver around when I got it setup at a 45 to a 90.

    The other guy had it easy, they pulled two trucks off that was in the way.

    Get your trailer jacked tight enough, it will roll backward while the tractor is going forward. My example posted earlier.

    Seriously guys, any time you're in a really tight situation with the possibility of hitting something on the blind side, you're much better off setting up the trailer to back in. THEN, get out and look, and while you're at it slide your tandems to the rear.

    You don't have all that overhang sitting out there to get you in trouble. The back end of your trailer goes where the tandems are, and have the trailer as close as possible to being parallel to the hole as the trailer starts to enter the hole.
