A refresher course isn't the result of a downgraded CDL. It's a money making scheme and nothing more.

IT IS a shame about England. Like Werner at one time, years and years ago when I first started? YOU NEEDED at the very minimum of 3 to 5 years experience BEFORE they even looked at one's application.
But C.R. England, Werner, JB Hunt, Swift (which was good at one time) all went onto the bandwagon of federally funded training programs, lease/purchase deals, etc, etc. To me, they will ALWAYS be the bottom feeders, but let's also look at it from another view point. SOME people simply cannot get on with anyone else due to time, money, location, and perhaps bad backgrounds so they turn to these bottom feeders, if only to gain "some time, some experience" and move on. -
Ok, where in my post did I say anything about a refresher?, someone stated his CDL might have been downgraded, the OP, never said he hasn't driven sense 09', when he first got his CDL, just no OTR, experience and was thinking of going OTR, my comment has nothing to do with anyone taking a refresher

I have no over the road experience or no local driving experience I was asking about CR England as I was thinking of going with them so whats everyone's opinion who would be a good company to go with over the road for a new driver
-
CR England will try and push you into a deal to lease a truck, so try not to go with them. Try Schneider?. Either way, whomever hires you may require some type of refresher training, either through them, or on your own.

Does it have to be OTR?
Why does everyone think you're going to make big $$$ on the road?
OTR is overrated, and not worth wasting your time with. Think outside the box a little. I can make more money operating a forklift than you could driving for the likes of CRE, Swift and whatnot. Plus be home every day.Arielit0oo Thanks this. -
it does not have to be over the road as I do not have experience I thought that may be the way to getting in easier and im looking for a job with a little more security as I do work as a painter n paint cars n do body work right now
