well tall mike im wanting to do the same thing. getting in to the florida dcs off the street is tough, i tried 2 no luck. to give you an idea fort peirce had 487 apps for 5 spots when i applied and alachua had over 400 for 5 spots. with 17 years no tickets and no accidents 1.5 million miles i was around number 200. i went to sealy,tx ,putting my year in then transfer to alachua .just have 2 months left. the good thing about transferring is that it doesnt go by seniority it goes by who put in for the transfer first . hoping to be working out of there by april. you can apply but if you have an opurtunity to get on in you might want to consider it.

    Tall Mike Thanks this.

There is openings all over the country right now. Apply at all the ones you would be willing to work out of, then if hired just transfer a year later.

Your record is what Walmart is more concerned about, along with verifiable experience, not so much how good or bad the carrier you worked for was in the eyes of the FMCSA.

Tall Mike and Buzzard2157 Thank this.

Just curious -- how much of a store discount does Wally give employees?

The 10% discount only applies to general merchandise (non-food) and fresh produce purchased at a Walmart store or walmart.com. During the holidays between Thanksgiving and New Years the discount applies to almost anything Walmart sells except for alcohol and tobacco products. The driver can receive two cards (driver and spouse) that will be mailed home after 90 days of employment. The discount cards are not valid at any Sam's Club store or online, as they offer their own discount cards for their employees.

    Buzzard2157 Thanks this.

What are start times typically like? Brian usually starts anywhere between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Lately he has been hauling fuel oil and starting at either 3:00 or 4:00 a.m. -- usually 4:00.
