Arrived there at 2045 local for an 0100 appointment. Was directed to park in the holding area. Was called to a door at 2200. Paperwork in hand at 0000. $60 lumper fee for a straight pallet pull (Nestlé Pure Life water). Overnight parking is allowed in the holding area once you're done. Not too shabby.

WONDERFUL. Anytime I see SuperValu anything, I cringe. I used to deliver to SuperValu Green Bay, and it was an awful place, especially when the Packers lost. I heard SV in Minneapolis wasn't much better, but someone told me SV in Pleasant Prairie ,Wis. was better.
Dinomite Thanks this. -
I almost quit driving after experiencing that Green Bay one....awful.

Hi 77, I know. I was getting paid by the hour, and went in there almost everyday, so I got to know them, but I had seen many a driver pacing back and forth and hollering, waving their arms and they seemed to get off on that. They'd take 2 pallets off, and you wouldn't see them for 20 minutes. Kind of like Roundy's when they were in Wauwatosa. Haven't been to the new place in Oconomowoc, but I'm sure it's the same.77smartin Thanks this.

They're only about a mile from my place. On of my ex-drivers works there as a spotter. Grabs the trailer from the yard, when the lumper leaves in the morning he stops by to get paid and the spotter brings the trailer back."semi" retired Thanks this. -
LOL semi---no Oconomowoc on its best day has em all beat---anytime when you pull back up to the shack to leave and the guard starts with "Man I know they suck in there-sorry you got hung up, but it wasn't my fault" I actually kinda feel bad for those guards--they catch all the BS every day and they're really a pretty good bunch...oh and as for Green bay---haven't been up in forever--but isn't SV up there--the old Red Owl?

We do some roundys but we do it as an ITA(roundys)truck. Mostly painless that way.

That Roundy's in Oconomowoc lets you stay inside the gates after unloading if you are out of hours...about the only grocery place I encountered that allowed that. I have great respect for drivers who deal with grocery places every week.

Hi 'olhand, like I say, I haven't been to Oconomowoc, just an all day deal in Wauwatosa. In case you haven't been by there lately, (Wauwatosa) the whole place has been converted to a Shopping mall. Remember Kohl's was on the other side. They weren't too bad. Yes, I delivered to Red Owl in GB and I believe took 1 of the last loads there in the mid-80's.'olhand Thanks this.
