Whenever threads like this are posted, my 1st thought is, don't look, but like looking at a welder, something makes me look anyway. Like drvrtech sez, this IS a truck driver's worst nightmare, and video's like these should be part of a driver's training course, like the old driver's ed movies years ago, to show new driver's what can happen. I suppose if they did, half the wannabe's would walk out. The real heroes are the firefighters, paramedic's and cleanup people, that deal with this on a daily basis. So sad.
I recall in high school we had a driving education class put on by the State Troopers alonmg with a bloody film of wrecks with people getting killed!

    1. They first talked to us about driving as safely
    2. them showed us a film of very bloody wrecks, one senor who was setting up front up-chucked
    3. Them out in the street they did a demonstration on braking

The thing I remember the most was B-Don Up-Chucking. And after high school he became a State Trooper them later he was on of the two Troopers who went to school giving the driver education class showing the bloody films!

I graduated high school in 1965. If I remember correctly the State Troopers came every two years giving the class back in those days.

Hi OHB, I know, but apparently, shock therapy has led to a host of other social problems, so they figured they'll dispense with the horror films, and let driver's see it first hand.

Hi skateboardman, anybody that's been around for a while knows that paint scheme, and it clearly says Werner on the side. I think you are right, media always does that. I remember years ago, an old-timer told me to keep a roll of masking tape in the truck and if you were in a crash, to tape over the name of the company.

wow....that car makes ya queasy.....how awful all the way around....prayers for the family and friends left behind and prayers for the truck driver and his family as well....gonna be hard to work thru that for sure. was always a fear of mine when i was on the road of something like this happening ....had a car head at me on the wrong side of the interstate more than once....but thank goodness nothing like this came from it...

I wonder if texting while driving was a factor. At highway speeds, it doesn't take very long to over-correct then lose control...a lot of ground is covered in a very short time and very bad things result. So sad.

O'Reilly sure plowed that field good...good thing that driver was aware of his/her surroundings. There have been enough multi-truck accidents in the past few days.

Hi DenaliDad, in 3 seconds, a vehicle travelling 65 mph will go the length of a football field.
