best way to fix that problem is turn the talkback down and possibly turn the mic gain down to 1 pm depending on what type 10 meter you got i have the dx93t and thats where i run mine and dont have the problem unless i turn the talk back louder and/or the mic gain up

One of the biggest problems with these High Power Galaxy's is getting sufficient power to the radio.

Run BOTH a Hot and Ground wire to your fuse box. Find where the Hot comes in and tie into that..... On the ground....find where something is grounded to the door Pillar if possible......if not keep running the ground on down to the floor. Using one of the passenger seat bolts.....ground it. Be sure and use no more than a 10Ga. wire (Larger the Ga. #....smaller the wire). Also, if you are using a Road King..... switch over to an Astatic. I don't know why...but, my radio man (one of the best on the East Coast) says something in the RK makes the Galaxy's squeal. I know it worked on my 93T, and also on my 48T. The only problem I have is when I turn my 48T up past say 150W.....the guages on my 07 Freightliner go crazy. But, there is no squeal.....just LOUD......Very LOUD.....and Very Clear M O D U L A T I O N !!! 10-4

I have a 99. For the first 2 years I owned it, my talk back would get loud and soft, loud and soft. I had it to a million CB shops. Nobody could find my problem. I spent hundreds trying to make it right. I found "the man" in CA. I learned that Galaxy has an unstable echo board. He laid some solider down on the echo board runs and it has been fix for years now.

The 99 was a problem from day one.....they were in the process of switching over to the boards that they use now for the newer radios....93T forward....(48T, 45T, 95T, 98T) All these radios us the same board as the Base unit. They are very stable and well put together.....However, they still suffer from the one weakness that hurts Galaxys....The ears aren't good enough for SSB use..... They are way too sensitive on the frequency movement. You have to be sitting still to fine tune on Side Band....and they have a problem locking onto a freq. There is too much drift. But, for am/fm use......they reign supreme. No other radio out there....If tuned properly....will out modulate and talk a Galaxy. The Magnum radios are close.....but, I'd take my 48T any day. People can't believe the loudness and clarity that I get with it.
