Here at the T/A in Canton. As far as I could get after all of the screw-ups today. Picked up my trailer and find a flat tire off the rim. Found out that it was curbed. Even a nice piece torn off from the outer casing. Thank you previous driver for leaving the trailer like that. Delay 2 hours. Show up now 1 stop 1 hour late. Get to the 2nd stop and find a pallet that was left on from the first stop so now after my final have to go back to the first stop. Luckily it was only 9 miles away Get to the 3rd stop and the only way that they were going to be able to pull 2 pallets off was to breakdown the top layers. They were falling over pretty bad and every time that they tried to lift they would lean more. So after all of the delays I just knew that I was going to get a short local and that is what I got. All of 5 stops in Columbus in the morning. Ldd miles is 63 and actual miles is about 100 because 3 of the stops are located in the city, albeit on opposite ends. Guess when finish the stops in the morning I can set myself up for another good run that night and get a nice break.

North Platte, NE at the Love's.

I left later this morning to make sure I was past the heavy winds between Rawlings and Cheyenne.
48 MPH gusts along the way but the winds were not a direct crosswind, so I wasn't tossed about too much.
I pulled into the Petro in Laramie and a worried looking driver asked about the winds. He only had 12.5 k in the box. I told him that I had no problems with only 8k.

So I'm at my fuel stop and decided to shut it down here. I can avoid a 30 minute break today and save a little time on my 70 by fueling during my pre-trip in the morning.
I'll only have 10 hours available tomorrow, so it didn't really matter where I stopped.

taking my 30 at the rest area on the 15 before Vegas, normally I make it all the way but traffic yesterday made it where I had to spend the night at my 2nd store in Fresno being out of hours, it took me 10.5 hours to do a trip to west hills then Long Beach and back to the dc, that should of took normally 6-7 hours even with traffic. Going to Lake Havasu for a sterilite after and will have to shut down there since I wont have the hours to make it to my normal rest area off the 40.

I've been on home time for the past few days, and just got my pre-plan for going back to work. Bobtail 661 miles to pick up an empty from a Walmart in ND. Lol.

Some aren't bad. I occasionally park at Jonestown, PA. If I can find a spot in the back among the haphazardly parked Central trailers, it's usually a nice quiet night. I've done a couple of nights in Ocala, FL. What surprised me is that NOBODY was idling those nights. Really nice to have the windows open and nothing louder than my fan.

Richmond isn't bad. It's kind of like home to me, since I went to Academy there. The worst part of Richmond is that smelling the Nabisco plant next door always makes me hungry.

And then there's my personal hell, Gary, IN. I did a D&H somewhere in Chicago in the wee hours, and was to pick up a T-call out of Gary in the afternoon. Roll in about 4 AM, park, do paperwork, and crawl in the bunk around 5 AM. Starting around 7 AM, some idiot (tho I used a stronger word that morning) was doing parking practice in the lot. Using the space beside me, and one in the row behind me. Using his horn every time he backed up. His AIR HORN. EVERY. FREAKING. TIME.

And I simply refuse to talk about Memphis.
