Who gets 160,000 lbs. of herring? Or were the 4 trucks each hauling something different?
And thank goodness it was a guy and you had a good laugh......if it had been a female you might have had a heart attack!![]()

I had a phone call today from a friend that is a former government official. They asked me if I had seen a new page on the mo.gov website. I hadn't been on any state government pages in quite awhile .....they told me that I needed to go look. Went to the website page and ....up pops a picture of Number One and Number Two daughters. It is a beautiful picture .....that someone had taken at one of the recent events....without our knowledge. It is being used to promote tourism for the festivals and events in southwest Missouri. The problem is that we weren't informed or asked, and I never signed a release for them to use their picture. I'm not quite sure how I feel about that......

no one eats herring except as juveniles pickled
they could be just getting transferred to another cold storage
to be sold as lobster or crab bait
single largest expense to a lobsterman
$300/day
in the state of maine a lobsterman is allowed 700 traps that these days cost $85 apiece
then the rope and buoys attached to the traps another 15-20000
20% of the gear needs replacing each year
takes 6 1 lb lobsters to get a pound of meat
so no complaing about the cost of lobsters

Yesterday, got called to the yard to drop the trailer I spent 2.5 hours getting washed out Sunday. Picked up a loaded trailer to the Walmart DC in Temple TX. 150 mile trip. Rather would have sat and completed a 34 but at least I got to see more of Texas and weather wise, it was a gorgeous day again. Days like this make the winter shorter and I will take that. At noon today will pickup a load at the Coca Cola plant in Dallas going to Wichita KS. AFTER I GET ANOTHER WASHOUT.
Travis, remember while those lease guys think they will be making big money, they gotta clear 2000 miles before they make cent ONE and you will learning a new career and getting paid for it. I have never regretted going company. Learn on the company's dime. Lease guys will be learning from the jump and have to sweat out lease payments. The lion's share of them will walk away after a month of negative settlements. Too much to learn too soon. Never second guess yourself going company. You will still be here while those guys will be doing something else being scared out of the industry. Trust me its costly to live out on the road but you can get some home made meals kept in the fridges to help defray the costs somewhat. Its an adventure, but I love what I do! In this life, Travis, you do what you love, or you love what you do. Anything else is just paying bills and marking time. Best of luck!!HometimeQueen, truckertravis84 and jungHo Thank this. -
That's crazy. I would be upset. It is the principal of it. They are both underage and it is inappropriate to use them without your or the kings consent. George maybe onto something, might be time to look into some modeling for them.HometimeQueen Thanks this.

In Marlow, OK. for the night. My bunk heater still doesn't work. They were taking so long to get to it. My day started at 0700 and by 1500 they still didn't get around to it. Only minor stuff with truck so no good explanation for it. I needed to roll so I did. Will buy a space heater for temporary. Nice here so no worries tonight.

i would be more upset if it was a picture of Jaso on a goverment site
isn't there something about implied consent if your at a public event? -
I promise my decision is firm... He. Reeled in alot of folks after he stated trans am would pay for your repairs and just take out $.10 per mile until its paid for or your maint. Account gets to zero and the famous line the first 3weeks you only pay for your fuel... He was showing some numbers and said it takes about 1600. Miles to make $90 going of of the .84+.29 national avg. for fuel surcharge.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
I would be asking them to explain the logic in going lease with that math, at 90.00 for 1600 miles as a lease driver does not make sense, as company you should be making around 500.00 before taxes if its still .32. My earlier comment about nickles floating around their eyes should be more like Pennies floating around their heads.
