A DOT physical is a DOT physical. That's why drivers with medical conditions that might become an issue... but managed to squeak through on their last DOT physical...opt to go with an employer that does not require a prospective employee to take a separate DOT physical.
Cool. That is how I understood it. The moment you're issued a new medical card, your old one is rendered obsolete (restating the obvious).

That well may be true bubbagumpshrip....but , the Op has already said the company is requiring a pre-hire physical and drug screen...I'm afraid that is the color of things to come too. All companies are gonna be required by federal statute to have potential employees take a physical and drug screen....
-
The drug screen, I totally get. The DOT physical requirement (for employment), I think is ridiculous. i.e. My employer required DOT physical was two months after my initial DOT physical. I just laughed and thought "thank you for buying me two extra months for free."Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this.

100 % agreed on the ridiculous.....now if you're getting ready to change jobs , and your current legitimate card is say within 30 to even say 60 days of needing to be re-certified..then fine. But if you've been certified within the last 30 to 60 days....its just a waste of company resources to me.....but , we all know that lawyers / insurance companies rule....I'm thinking that's the real reason for it.bubbagumpshrimp Thanks this.

New company will require a new physical and drug test. For the very reason why you don't want to take one. No games. You come in a prove it to us. If your healthy? You get a new card. Pretty standard OP. Everywhere I've worked big or small has made me get a new one each time. I've had a card that was less than 3 months old and had to redo it. It wouldn't matter if your old card is one day old. Ya gonna get a new one if you want to work here.
-
Here the deal your card is good for two years. No company has to accept it. It says your healthy enough to work but it does not say you have the right to work for someone. No law that says a company has to accept it. Oh, so big government making it a law to force them to accept it is OK? Yea everyone loves government when it comes to getting what they want. LOL
-
Paschall Truck Lines will accept your 2 yr. card and won't require a new physical; just a pee test.
-
Yep 140/90 is the limit just go to dr get bp med take and go get physical but dont say your on meds and youll get a 2 year card.
