sorry there jbrodgers, if i may start out by just saying be ready for it the get hectic real quick like. my medical got behind and just got cleared at the last minute today, but anyways onward!

So wednesday you go to roll call at 8am or 7:30 i cant quiet remember, basically you receive your medical cards here (dot physical card) and you get a talked to by brooke about getting your permit stuff done (STAY ON TOP OF THIS) and essentially thats about it then some guy comes in he was a former marine or maybe army i really can't remember, but he stays around for a bit if you have your missouri permit you stay here if not you go to the DMV, this guy here does pre-trip class you get a packet of paperwork that tells you what to inspect during the pre-trip and you follow along with the guy as he goes through a powerpoint presentation its all about P.M.S(properly mounted and secured) C.B.B. (not cracked, bent, or broken) and A.B.C (no abrasions, buldges or cuts) don't worry he goes over all of this. After class you leave there go outside and BAM your doing pre-trips with instructors weather it be TnT or PSD ask questions they are their to help and that pretty much wraps of wednesday, i would recommend you also stay on top of your medical if you don't get it tuesday, or wednesday something is probably wrong you need to call jackie immediately to get it sorted out also STAY ON TOP OF YOUR MEDICAL

As for thursday, I woke up at 5:45am chow at 6:15 and sat around and talked and drank coffee until 7:30 then went into room C-4 for insurance class-ish (its more informational and most of this does not apply to PSD's at this moment) wally may or may not come in and hand out the last of the med cards and brooke does her roll call thing before the insurance/benefits guy comes in, at this time you should have your shiny copy of your medical card and your missouri permit ($32.50 for testing to get your permit, its $7.50 if you just need to transfer) "now what?", you ask? well you sit around, unless you need you go to the sleep study thingy then you go there, there is another roll call at 10:30am, and 12:45am where you will get your Prime id/comdata card, don't worry if you don't get it here you'll get it in the millennium building later on. now from 12:45pm till around 2pm you have nothing to do relax the race is almost over... now at 2pm we all head over to the millennium building yes the big place. now when you walk through here your gonna go on my goodness this just got real, i'm apart of the best of the best now (at least i did). Now you walk in the door till you see a giant sign that says east conference room this is where you recieve your real medical card, and your safety vest and your prime id badge lanyard thingy you see all the other drivers wearing! (woo!) you also get to sit through yet another lecture on more paper work and being safe and all that fun stuff out on the road, and you should get the opportunity to tour the millennium building by this girl named andrea she does her job very well i thought so and now its chow time again, except you get to eat the good stuff now. and then come to your room back at the campus inn.... or sit around and talk last shuttle leaves at 9pm so you should be fine for awhile i finished the tour and ate right around 6:30pm

As for friday....well you get to wait i can't see into the future but i do know that we are doing the smith class and 4hours of combined pad training time and riding around springfield getting to know your instructor!

as for a note its 10:30 central time now and i've been up since 5:45am and am very tired, so my proof reading is very bad right now please make this make sense haha. and have fun on the greydog

Well I'm nearly 2 weeks in and I've been through extremely low visibility in blizzard like conditions, drove through 45mph winds and through Chicago during rush hour traffic as far as driving the trucc goes I'm doing great the pre trip is getting better and I'm still working on the backing. And let me just tell you I drove through Omaha Nebraska and could barely see out the windshield that was probably the worst part. And driving in snow and ice isn't no joke that's for sure

Thanks for the update. Got approved start on the 23rd. The weather up in the north east is not looking to friendly. Backing comes with time. Stay safe out there. Keep the rubber side down.

Hey good luck to you there driver. It's not as hard as you would think it is. Came pretty natural to me my instructor was surprised. But there is always something you have to pay attention too, weather it be stupid 4 wheelers sitting in the ditch with the tail of their car in your lane or snown plows, or that rogue 70 mph wind gust or that stupid 4 wheeler sitting right by your tandems on the right side just chillin there. But one thing I can say drivers help drivers in bad weather via the cb

While I was out on my PSD training, I had every obstical thrown at me that could be... 4 wheelers spun out in front of me and in the ditches and medians.... ice road trucking on my second day of driving, rain... Rush hour driving in Chicago...3 TIMES...Then temps in the negatives.
Now that I am back in Springfield to take my CDL testing... 6 inches of snow. Needless to say, testing has been canceled.

    Best time to learn.

Get it out of the way right out the gate.

Everything else will seem easy in comparison.

Well everything was thrown at me from the get-go... would rather do that with a PSD trainer than to face it once I'm solo and have no knowledge of it....

    This. Baptism by fire.

On my 2nd day PSD, I hit Oklahoma City at, oh, 17:00.

Instructor told me I'd get some good down-shifting experience tonight.
