Class B CDL

Because your limited in your job search, upgrade to a class A, you'll be happier in the long run

 

I got a class B. Really, can't do much with it. Wish I would have gotten my class A.

 

The only thing I could really find is either school bus or public transit. Looked into trash trucks but they want some " similar experience". Same with dump trucks.

 

Bs you can do plenty with a class b. Dump trucks, garbage trucks, school bus, public transit, tour bus, longhaul bus(greyhound etc), straight truck deliveries, among many other positions.

When job searching i often get annoyed and impatient having to skip over all the class b positions to find the jobs im looking for.

 

Where were you looking? When I was looking for class B all I found was for class A and why I got updated to class A.
Because of eye sight waiver and cant cross state lines school found a class B heating oil truck driver so getting to use Tanker/MAZMAT/TWIC card.

To the OP go for your class A with all endorsements if just starting out as more doors will be open for you. You can drive class B with class A license but not the other way around.

Apparently, none of these guys have ever heard of expediting. A class B can find you in a straight truck, making as much per mile, or more, than regular truckers. But because it is emergency freight, and so many people do it because of the ease, compared to a semi, you will sit between loads, sometimes a day or two, sometimes more, sometimes not at all.

 

Yes, if they have a P (Passenger) endorsement, which not many people have unless they intended to drive passengers from the get go.

On dump truck jobs...it probably depends on the area. Many of the dump truck positions in my area only hire Class A holders. Sure...you can drive the dump truck with a 'B', but you need an 'A' to tow anything over 10,000 lbs behind the truck.

 

Stop talking about endorsements like they are some big project to acquire. They are easily accessible to most people.

 

Where can one find a bus to rent to use it for passing the P endorsement driving test....?
