Update
Still no incidents. Hauling on ice now. We've just been shut down for a few days because it's too warm and our roads are turning to ####. I quit the company I was working for and started with a new company. The story on that is that with starting 15 hour runs, they wanted to run cross-shifts as well. That means pretty extreme shift changing. There's not enough money in logs to die for. I told them I'd quit if they did that. They did that. I quit and found a job in a day on a single shift truck with an owner who does not believe in running 2 guys on a a truck.
Logging seems to be hit and miss. THe money doesn't add up to what they said...it does....but not consistent. Also it's not year round good work. I'd like to change. WIth the way things are going with oil....logging may be it. I like the off road driving. I'd be happy to never drive on pavement again.

If you're going to Ab. Sangel is a company that is hiring. They do sand and nitrogen. Pay is decent, also give you 500.00 towards rent to stay in Red Deer. Work is 3 wks on 2 off. Also pay for flights within Canada.

If it were 6 on and 3 off, that would work better. What is decent pay??

They only do 3 on 2 off. My gf was working for them for a while. She lives in BC and they paid her flights home, plus 500 a month towards rent to stay in Red Deer. I believe it was around 20/hr.

They mostly do nitrogen, you would also need tickets. If you haven't done nitrogen, then they have sand also.

Ok...well thanks for that. I'll have to check it for myself. For 20 bucks, I think I'll go back to Thailand.
