Under certain circumstances, you can drive over a 16 hour period.
You can do this if:
You have returned to your home terminal every night for the last 7 tours of duty, or since your last 34 hour restart.
and
You have not used the 16 hour exception within the last 7 tours of duty, or since your last 34 hour restart.
and
You use the extra time to return to your home terminal.
You still only have 11 hours of drive time, but you can extend your 14 by 2 more hours. -
I did not give you anything, if it shows you still have hours available then you simply have not used them as yet. Elogs do not round the numbers they go off actual time. Some times that is to your advantage, and sometimes not. You get 11 out of 14 to drive. Breaks, on duty (pretrip, post trip, fuel) all come off your 14 hour not your 11 drive line. Anytime you can jump to off duty it saves drive time, the 14 keeps running, byt the 11 can be stopped.Eflowcire Thanks this.

[h=3]May the driver of a property-carrying vehicle be on duty for more than 14 hours?[/h]Yes. A driver can continue to work beyond the end of the 14th hour of the day, but may not drive a commercial motor vehicle (unless using one of the 16-hour exceptions). The additional on-duty time will reduce on-duty time available under the 60/70-hour time limit.Last edited: Jan 22, 2015

Perhaps I wasn't clear. The 16 hour exception allows you to drive up to 11 hours during the 16 hours after coming on duty following a 10 hour break, provided that all of the conditions for being eligible for the exception have been met. The OP said that his electronic log 'gave' him an extra 2 hours of drive time. Perhaps he inadvertently activated the 16 hour exception by accidentally selecting it on his screen.
Electronic logs don't tell you how much you have left on your 8, 14 or 70, they only tell you how much drive time you have left.
edit: I re-read what I wrote and was quoted by PJ, and I certainly WAS clear.

Were you close to your 60 or 70 hour weekly total and driving around midnight? Perhaps the system added hours gained from using recap. Or are you saying your e-log gave you 13 driving hours in the day? It could also be a programming glitch or something else. A little more information on the exact circumstances involving this extra time would help.windsmith Thanks this.

You didn't come to Canada did you?

His dispatcher "adjusted" his log for him. E-logs are all bout safety y'know.

You can remotely adjust an ELOG from people PC. Elogs are just as easy to manipulate as paper.
