I use Quicken and trying out Quickbooks, however, I feel it doesnt meet my wants. I am looking for software that is specifically made for truckers. Anyone have any suggestions?

Why isn't Quickbooks sufficient for expenses tracking? You can add any expense you want and tie it to the appropriate tax-line for accurate accounting purposes.

Look at money ledgers simple and inexpensive. Plus you can track Ifta miles with it. I do not use the ifta tax amounts, I rely on my state calculator for that (Ohio).

Spreadsheets in space! Ok...that aside, I do have a spreadsheet, but I use it mainly for notating my load info. main thing I like are bars and graphes and spreadsheet ones are too complicated lol

Kevin Rutherfords Profit Gauges is what I have been using for the last 3 years and it is great. It was designed by a trucker for truckers. You have to subscribe it. It costs 19 month but is well worth it. When tax time rolls around you just print out the tax report and I take one page to my accountant and that is all there is to it.

I have used Trucknpro for several years. I did use a spreadsheet for some time and still do for some things. It will track your loads, IFTA, maintenance and all the compliance requirements for the fmcsa. I got the newest version in October (Trucknpro Biz Manager), but just started using it this month. The old version I have been using was not compatible with the new program and I wanted to finish out the year with my old program. The new version will even track your per diem. It has a number of features that I like and will work for a single operator or small fleet. You can print out reports and profit and loss on a single load or for any time. I like the way the program breaks everything down. I don't think you can beat it for the money if you want a program specifically designed for the trucking industry. You pay a one time fee and download the program. You don't need to pay a monthly fee to use the software. The other two I am familiar with are Easy Trucking and The Truckers Helper. Any of the three would probably work for you. I believe all of them offer a short trial period where you can download their software and try it before buying.
