@Omahabob, i honestly am not sure. i don't believe they do though, nothing ive read or talking to Scott (the recruiter) indicated they do. They don't run weeks out OTR i don't think, they are a smaller company.

I sent Scott (the recruiter) and e-mail today to let him know that I put in an on-line app. We'll see if he gets back.

Just want to say its a family company if you fit in the operations"family"
In june I told a dispatcher my wife was do anyday and needed to be close
to the yard. On a Monday morning I was driving into Cincinnati and wife called
dr sent her to hospital was going to break water etc at noon. Said I would let them know.
I had a return load from Covington ky on river back to Findlay would get it and then home. Dispatch said ok.
got to shipper laod was cancelled. Called dispatch said " ok ill call and see what was going on. "
20 mins later I called them back and they told me I had a load from Indianapolis to findlay.
I said um wife is in labor.they told me didn't want to dead head me that far. 2 hrs away is to far
I said no im going home. Not only time they tried to screw me up.
Many times sitting waiting for them to find me a load. And miles have dropped over past 4 months.
ready to go bye bye. -
krazy k so are you on the 4on/4off or the regular regional runs? what kind of miles are you getting?
-
otr 5 to 7 days out. just this week i was at a normal delivery in ny and we deliver there 2 loads a day or everyother day and waited 2 hrs after i was emty before they got me a broker load that was almost 600 miles and it was noon tues it delivered 8 am thursday so i sit 2 long breaks to kill my time.
-
That doesn't sound very good. Isn't there a lot of loads out there to keep you moving? I looked at load boards a few months ago out of curiosity and there were a ton of loads staying in the Midwest area.
-
if waiting 2 hours for a load to be assigned to you is your worst complaint, then i feel pretty comfortable with considering Garner as a place to work.
-
I think where the issue is P/U noon Tuesday, deliver 600 miles away at 8am Thursday. Delivering it Wednesday would make more sense and keep him moving. That's a lot of downtime over 44 hours if I can do math.
-
ah yeah i understand that now. sounds like poor coordination on the part of garner. or that or the dispatcher was garbage.
-
Or, that's whaat the customer requires. I'd call the consignee, and ask them if it can be dropped Wednesday.
