If it doesn't seem right to you. Then don't put up with it. Say what you feel. As long as you're doin your job than you have the right to express yourself.

Man am I glad I never had to go with a trainer. I honestly can't imagine how I'd react to situations like this. I do not like answering to someone else when it comes to me needing some space. If I'm ready for bed, and can't get to it because someone that I am forced to live with won't let me---I would lose my mind.

I don't sit around in truck stops FOR ME...I darn sure don't want to do it FOR YOU. I think I would most likely confront the trainer with my thoughts...and if that didn't turn things around, I'd be forced to snitch in some form or fashion (whether I tell the company the truth or make something else up) and ask for a different trainer. But the latter would not be fair (in my opinion) if I didn't try to resolve the issue first with the trainer himself.

Speak up, ask questions, make this guy do his job. I don't know the whole story here, but I am so tired of hearing these tails of trainers acting like this is boot camp. It's driving a truck. Teach this next generation of drivers how to do the job saftely and with respect. If your a trainer be professional, personable and attentive to the job. Not some sloth loser who thinks their god. Rant over

I think this is one of the issues I have with this idea that they are trainers, they are not, they are co-workers and mentors for that company, not trainers.

IT is the responsibility of the person who is new to deal with these stupid issues as a co-worker, not as a student. There is no pass or fail, this is at that point just a job and entry into a career which anyone can leave and find another company to work for to get their feet wet.

That said, I would have gotten into the truck, pulled the curtains back and told the guy "deal with it, I'm going to bed".
