Is the backing maneuver that difficult? What do you have to do,back the trailer into a dock door? I am going to put an application in for the Smyrna,De location.Could anybody tell me if that is a good DC to work out of...Thanks

its a excellent dc to work out of and we have a great safety director. You are required to back in between two trailers without hitting anything.yorkt said: ↑Is the backing maneuver that difficult? I think this should be proof to a lot of people that just because Walmart is actively looking for drivers, they have not lowered their standards or are just "giving" away jobs. They just will not compromise on anything safety related. That's why it is a multi step program to get hired. If you pass the phone interview, you move on to pre trip/road test. If you pass those, then its on to the physical, etc. Just because you get invited to try out, doesn't mean you automatically make the team. You have to be on top of your game to make it through. Backing between 2 trailers is something we've all done hundreds of times. But the safety guy is not just judging your ability to back up, he knows you are feeling pressure and is also looking at how you are dealing with that pressure. Like TomofTx said, don't let it discourage you, take what you've learned from this and use it if and when you apply again. Good luck to everybody.

you are absolutely right and that's what the safety guy told me

Grabberblue what type of schedule do you guys work, the 5/2 ? I'm waiting to get my profit sharing check the first week of march with my company now. Don't want Walmart to call my employer if I make it that far and lose out on the profit sharing. I currently make about 57,000 a year, can I make more than that there? I live about 1 1/2 hrs. away and rode over to look at the DC. Nice looking DC.
