Why would anyone disclose sleep apnea during a medical card physical? My grandpa used to say, "never answer a question that hasn't been asked". That has been some of the best advice I've gotten in my life.

Thats why I am asking different folks. Should I disclose this? I mean they are going to see my size 23 neck. Is this something I need to disclose? Or just take my machine with me and use it when I sleep?

Sleep disorders is a question on the medical form since last year. I would disclose it anyway, especially if you are being treated effectively and are compliant. Lying about only leads to bigger problems down the road.

That's the way I was leaning. Used it for 5 plus years. Im down to the wire as Stevens is confirming tomorrow my travel, class next week etc. I have read a ton of terrible reviews and dont want to sign a contract for schooling on day 1. Only to be told on day 2 I can't pass DOT regs because of Apnea. I'm just trying to cover my bases before jumping on that bus next week. I thank all of you for your input, advice, etc.

If you tell on yourself, your med card will be good for 1 year, instead of 2. Mount an inverter in the truck and do what you have to do. Most companies will install it for you. Get a 2500w Cobra off amazon for around $120.

There is a new feature on the OOIDA website to help driver prepare for their dot physicals. It had suggestions, links to the actual regs that the examiners must follow (and so you can see if they aren't adding to it to make extra $$) and also a place where you can put a review of your examiner or read reviews from others. http://www.ooida.com/ReviewDoc/

Because it is found in section 2 in the physical examination form, where the driver checks boxes indicating whether or not he's had certain medical issues in the past. 3rd column, second check boxes, it specifically asks "Sleep disorders, pauses in breathing while asleep, daytime sleepiness, loud snoring"

In other words, they ARE asking.
