you mean the little ones they put on the windshield for clean inspection?
if you havn't been inspected like me you dont even have one
is only for their convience to see who has been inspected and passed recently -
no he means the required annual vehicle inspection that is required under 49 cfr part 396
-
Yes,TLeaHeart, red metal tag, on passenger side of truck
-
the periodic inspection goes against the company, from what I find in the fmsca safer scores.
-
Thanks. Im sure they would pay my ticket if i got one. Just hard to get it inspected, if you only have one truck and too busy at work
-
Why not have it inspected at a TA? Yeah the cost is greater, but at least its a certified DOT inspection
-
Buy a sticker and form at the truck stop fill it out
Caterpillar Cowboy and mrbmg Thank this. -
IF it is expired, can they shut you down for it. Or does the DOT just give a 15 day warning to repair.
I was in a South Dakota scale a few years back and did not have the paper inspection form. The tags were on the truck but I had to wait for the office to fax over the form. I don't remember what I was going to do If she didn't send the form over. -
Keep in mind also. If your pulled in for a truck and trailer inspection keep the form if you pass. Your good for another year even though the sticker on the side expires.
Also, if you have a scale house in town and your in good standing with them you can request an inspection any time. Some will give you a non recourse inspection which means they will inspect and not write you up. Go get it fixed, come back and they will write you up for a good inspection and your all set for another year without a sticker on the side.
I'm from NH and like a few other states we don't need the FMSCA sticker. We have our own sticker on the windshield.
