Sitting at the ID office at Kings Bay, got here at 5:20 for my 6am appt, ID office didn't open until 0600... OTD for second stop is not looking good.

One of the advantages of this job, in about 10 minutes I will be meeting up with my very first squad leader from the 76th Transportation Company... The one who asked me on the way kit the gate on my very first solo load, if I spoke German, when I replied No, he handed me an atlas and said "In that case, You better learn to read this"

Did a little time in k town myself back in 83 with the 501st. When was ya there.

 

Its a tough few days but I am learning a lot. Seems like a great bunch of people that work here. Today was physical day. Close to half the class was sent home or put on med hold.

 

80-81 in the 76th, PCS to Ft Riley, reenlisted, then 503rd Trans on Patton Barracks in Heidelberg 82-85

 

Holy moley! normally it's only about 10%, with most being med holds cleared up in a day or two.

 

I'm done with orientation now I wait for a trainer to pick me up. I've heard there are a lot of them here so it shouldn't take too long. They could also fly or bus me out to meet them.

 

From what I have heard there are a lot of trainers looking for students, sometimes that is reversed. Your timing is good.
