Since it is a 95` its possible it could be a dt466 or a dt466E correct? Any difference in reliability, fuel mileage etc?

I think in 95 you still had a choice between the 466 mechanical fuel pump or 466E electronic HEUI engines. I have little to no experience with mechanical fuel pumps on those engines. They are rare now and because of that I would stay away from it. The HEUI engines are good, very popular, everybody and their brother knows them, parts are easy to get and engines are somewhat easy to work on.
The Rook Thanks this. -
10-4 Thanks for all of your help guys, Im going to look at a few tomorrw morning down in tampa and orlando. Seems that the 10 speeds are very few and far between. I have seen 3 for sale here in the south east and they all have CAT motors in them. Heavyd, what would be your second choice of transmission for my application? 2 hours up i95 10 stops in Savannah and 2 hours back down. All flat land, and have no problem dropping the governor to 62-65mph (if theses trucks have governors)

Hmmm. The trans are good too, Spicers are the most common, but the weakest. I'm not familiar enough with rear end ratios on those to say what would best for highway except obvious a lower ratio for better highway RPMs. Yes, all 466 electronic engines can be programmed for a maximum road speed.

All the ones I'm looking at are Eaton 6 or 7 speed
-
I would say go with an Eaton 7 spd. Can never go wrong with an Eaton.

I am also seeing a few 4300 box trucks with the VT365 motor in them. whats your take on those? I havent searched yet but it looks like the ford 6.0 in the super dutys
-
Yes, same engine basically as Ford. 466 is still way better. 365 are best for Ford pick ups, school buses or small local delivery trucks.
