I had planned to pick up this late load at noon today.
I get a message at 0730 this morning telling me that the customer can't load me at 1200 and set a new apt time of 2100 tonight, and they would get back to me with a new delivery appt..

Wonderful. Now I'll be up all day before I even get started.
So I called my DM and let him know that once I picked up the load I would be taking a 10 because after being up all day I couldn't pull an all-nighter. I asked him to message the planner and let him know I could make delivery on 2/5 at 1800, so hopefully the planner works it out for a correct delivery time.

I've scanned these receipts in before and gotten reimbursed. They are supposed to pay you back for the cost of parking. When in doubt just scan it with your trip and they may pay you back for it.

Taking a midday 10 at JV before delivering this 14' trailer in Commerce, then running over to Moreno Valley to drop and hook a load headed to Red Bluff.

I was having a nice sleep until, like clockwork, some jerk kept honking his horn. Sure enough, some inconsiderate mentor was giving backing practice to his trainee a few slots over. I finally blasted my air horn long enough to make him jump and turn around. While the honk before you back thing is part of the official safety requirements, there's something to be said for teaching your trainee how to be COURTEOUS. That is a word that's on the back of our trailers.

There's a Pilot in Nogales and a rest area just north of the Border Patrol checkpoint . If you have a smartphone you should download the TruckerPath app . (Not you , Moose . )

I do have a smartphone, and I will download it. Thank you for the info, do you know what the drop yard is like? I mean like a actual office or facility or just a small dump?

Little shack of an office, pretty much a dump if I remember right. Can probably do a ten there though.

Pretty much as Kindle described but I would hesitate to do a 10 there with other places within a few miles that are close enough to get back if you get a load out of the dropyard which is likely . I'd recommend calling Phoenix planners to see if there's a load out.

Costco, Morris IL. Picked up my load last night at 10pm; I really should've been there earlier but ran into issues with my previous final. Right off the bat, noticed my trailer didn't have mud flaps. Before looking for the onsite maintenance, I rolled over the scale and was a good 1,000+ over gross. Culprit looked like it was the hefty amount of snow residing on the top of my trailer. Costco had a snow removal machine installed the other week, but it was already broken. Ran down maintenance to get the mud flaps fixed, and then called after hours who sent me to on-road??

I ran out my 14 just making to my pickup. So after getting the run-around from after hours, and having maintenance tell me that some guys shovel the snow off the trailer themselves, that I figured I'd might as well wait till my DL gets in in the morning. I'm not going anywhere.

Then em this morning I got conflicting information on where to go to have the snow taken care of. Finally, the FM told me to go to a wash out 20 miles away. Out of route. I wonder if I'm going to be paid for that. When I got there, there were 3 Swift trucks ahead of me. And when I finally left, there were 10 of them in line. As I'm leaving, the wash people tell me that the roof of my trailer is bowed in pretty significantly.

I called claims to report the bowed in roof. Stopped at the pilot exit 93 to make sure it was the snow causing me to be overweight. And finally back to the costco to have swift look at the roof and make sure it was acceptable. It was.

As they are filling out the paperwork, because they also fixed a small air leak, we noticed that one of my identification lights on the rear of the trailer had gone out. Razzlefrazzle. F. F. F. Because it's welded to the frame, they estimated up to two hours to fix it. Oh, I was suppose to be in Dayton, OH, at 4pm today. I might be able to squeeze in shutting down at them tonight, maybe. If not, I'll just get as close as I can for a 10.

This has been a pretty good trailer from hell. Also, comparing before/after weights, it seemed I had 4500 pounds of snow on the trailer.
