if a company has to put cameras in their trucks to constantly watch the driver that means they don't trust me they hire in other words maybe it's time to reconsider the hiring standards....

I may be trolling again here :biggrin_25511: ...but why do you continue to drive for them if this is your attitude? There are soo many better companies out there, or attempts, yes?

We all have choices in life. If people don't like the cameras, that's their right. U exercise that belief by quiting that company and finding something u like better. I'm sick of hearing grown adults continue to cry about this subject. Put yor money where yor mouth is and be yor own boss or go work for a ratty outfit that doesn't have cameras

    drvrtech77 and NYSuperTrucker Thank this.

So anyone who doesn't have cameras is a rat carrier............I would disagree

if your scared about a camera recording you drive then you have something hide... the cameras probably only record the seconds leading up to the crash and after, otherwise i dont know were you would store hours upon hours of recording. eventually most if not all companies will have rear and forward facing dash-cams, which we should be embracing if were all as safe drivers as we claim. now these companies will actually see whose at fault in accidents.

I agree. Why are you still working there if it's that bad?? There's a million other companies out here. I was under the assumption he quit. Now this is just weird.

There is no invasion of privacy with those cameras. If you are a company driver then the cab is a workplace and the company can do whatever it wants within the law. It's no different than having cameras on you working drive-thru at McD's or in a wharehouse somewhere.

However, I personally feel that if there is an inward-facing camera then it should only be on when the truck is in motion. And it should be positioned so that you get sort of an over-the-shoulder look at the driver and nothing behind the seats.

Cameras should be in sleepers to....We need a bed check to make sure your sleeping....and we can match your line 2 against reality . If you only get 2 or three hours sleep out of your 10 hour break........

    you might be liable ...

    That's next......

Micromanagement seems to be the corporate way these days, in every industry. Goes with the nanny state we now live in.
