That's true! -
locking fuel caps only slow them down. if they want your fuel, a pipe wrench will remove any cap.

^ as typed from behind a computer screen and over the internet! I recognize a rambo when i run up on one- -
But with locking caps, 2 things:
1. Classic crime displacement. BG: "Do I want to have to screw around trying to remove a locked cap, or go find another rig without one?"
2. Noise. Try to remove one with that pipe wrench and not make any noise. Again, the more noise they have to make in order to remove it, one of 2 things is likely to happen. Either they'll give up and move on, knowing full well noise is their enemy or they'll be stupid and make enough to wake up the driver.
I've been nailed twice and finally got tired of it. I came up with a home made solution that I hang in both the drivers and passengers side windows before I hit the bunk. Takes all of about 10 seconds for each. Lower the window, slide the clip down, roll up the window. I ordered 2 of the spring clips shown and expoxy'd them to the back of these battery operated LED spots with motion detection. Each takes 4 "C" cell batteries. I use duracell lithiums as they work better in colder temps. Between the locking caps and the lighting, haven't had a problem since.nofilter, Rodeorowdy, Six9GS and 10 others Thank this. -
OH, OH, that was your truck?
You know, in this day, and the price of fuel, you'd think all trucks would have locking fuel caps.
