allways parked nose in or between big fleet company trucks to avoid fuel theft..
BROKENSPROKET Thanks this. -
Good luck with that plan. Some people are not afraid. It is the size of the bite in the dog.

Is there anyway you guys can fabricate something that can be ether bolted or welded to the trucks chassis that blocks the fuel tank caps? that in order to have access to the cap you had to remove some kind of lock. Something in the neighborhood of 1/4" or so they would have to use like an angle grinder that makes a hell of a nice.
I am not a trucker yet so I don't know exactly how the fuel tanks are set up.Last edited: Feb 4, 2015

Some people go through so much hassle to Steal couple bucks from people. Since ive start driving, ive never seen such a pathetic low lives around Truck stops. I always have a hammer NexT to my seat, to check tires, but if i catch you doing stupid #### like this. That hammer will not be used on tires anymore.

Home Depot. Amazon has them as well.

When I was a company driver I could care less about fuel theft, in a sense that it didn't keep me up at night. Or cause me to jump up out of my bunk if I heard some tapping noises from the tanks or catwalk.
As an owner op, its constantly on my mind. I have the anti siphon inserts and locking caps on my list of upgrades. I don't like running the tanks around low. Don't want the algae build up or getting caught somewhere out of fuel in emergencies.
Probably going with these two options:

unless they are welded to the tank, the road vibration will wear out the flange that holds them to the lip of the filler, and plop in the tank they go.

No, as I said, some how they are locked into place. I had seen allen screws I think and they are in some sort of groove. All our trucks have just over 300,000 miles.
