Running the toll roads across Indiana and Ohio but not authorized on PA turnpike, need to run 80 across and take 476 (?) down. If everything cooperates I should be fine with enough time left to park at the Bandit on I78 and see my brother.
I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

Weather should not be an issue tomorrow across there. Problem is the goat ran away so I can't be sure about any other slowdowns!Dominick253 Thanks this.

Sitting in the dock this morning when a roach coach shows up. Chicago food trucks are usually pretty good so I bundled up and grabbed a plate of spicy pork and rice, plus some beef and potatoes for the Hot Chick. She took the desk in the bunk and commandeered the rest of the bunk for her writing stuff (she is a writer along with her other talents and is working on her first novel). I perched on her seat so we could face each other and talk. The guy sitting in the truck next to us kept staring at me. I was about to ask him what his deal was when he got the green light, buttoned up, and left post haste. The next guy bumped the dock and commenced staring at me also. I was starting to get annoyed when Deb reminded me that I had Risinger put our handles on our respective doors and I was in her seat. So there I was sitting in the passenger seat with THE HOT CHICK in large red block letters directly beneath my Fred Thompson looking mug. I can only assume those two drivers were trying to figure out what had happened to me. Come to think of it, they did look a little bewildered.
Sometimes real life happens in ways that are way funnier than anything on TV. Except for The Big Bang Theory. And M*##S*H. Ooh, and the Muppet Show.Dominick253 and Bumper Thank this. -
So... you can take some toll roads, just not I76. Least you don't have to take US 322, to 81, to 78.
-
Not wait a minute here. If you are footing the bill for the truck, shouldnt you be able to run the routes you want?
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Makes sense -- it costs ~30cpm in tolls to run the PA turnpike fully loaded.
Dominick253 and Captain Zoom Thank this. -
Exactly. I can run whatever roads I feel like running; like it was stated I AM footing the bill for the truck. But I am NOT footing the bill for that I-Pass, so I'll get charged back for any tolls incurred on the PA turnpike. Like the wise man once said, you have the freedom to do whatever you like, but you are not free to escape the consequences of those actions.
Also I'm not footing the ENTIRE bill for the truck. The lion's share, yes, but not the whole thing. Like any lease operator, I could go get a loan for the stated value of the truck. Then I'd be free to get my own authority, collect on my own invoices or pay for factoring, find my own freight or pay a broker, buy my own insurance, etc.
I simply choose to lease. I'm not saying everybody should. I'm just saying it's right for me, at least for the foreseeable future.Dominick253 Thanks this. -
You do realize 476 is a toll road too right? Just checking.
-
And for whatever reason they're perfectly fine with paying that toll; I checked. Probably the short distance.
(I have done this before, you know) -
I believe you...the 476? comment is the reason why I asked.Captain Zoom Thanks this.
