Read that and a few more articles. Seems like natural gas prices have fallen proportional to oil prices, so that answers half my question, though I coudn't figure out what exactly the cause was, although there's presumably some connection with oil (directly or indirectly).

Been slow since just after xmas in Red deer area. I've heard the same in GP. But the rumor mill is saying it's hit and miss in GP. 7 Gen hasn't cut back any of their projects etc... that's what I've been hearing

But it's cut throat to get onto any of there work right now. I heard fluid pro stole a big contract from maximum by under cutting the rate. We had guys coming from drayton valley just to get a couple days work they were eating the travel time just to make a couple buck because they had been sitting for so long

The announcement of LNG plant's on the coast and the fact that the line there has had little volume since eurocan/west fraser shutdown in kitimat, and the pulp mill in Prince Rupert shutdown. Once that gas starts flowing hopefully prices will come up on gas at least.

Everything is down right now. Oil, gas, dollar!
WTI crude is starting to slowly climb again, hopefully it keeps going.
