After 8. They say that the next contract will top out around 32 or 33hr. They'll hire off the street. Just have to be persistent and willing to work dock when it's slow. But the dock is all forklifts. And you make only $.50 less per hour than driving.

so the benefits are free for standard, and 30 for premium? or free for you, and if you have a family its 30? are they busy all over? what IS their policy on facial hair?

What's considered a "long day" at UPS Freight?
darthanubis Thanks this. -
There are two options. A free option for you and/or family. But they also offer a different plan that is $30 a week for family. There is No deductible. Face must be shaved...however they don't say anything if you have some 3 day old stubble. Mustache is cool. Just no beards.
darthanubis and already gone Thank this. -
What i meant by that is that when you work the dock you're only gonna average about 7 hours per day. But anytime you drive you'll get 10.5 to 13 hours per day. Which overtime after 8 is great. So you can expect to make about $250 a day driving when on bottom. And the top pay p/d drivers make about $380 a day on average.

wow, thats some big dough! I hate uniforms and appearance policies, but for that dough, I guess if anything ever happens at Holland, I know whose door i'm knocking on!

uh, yep, they kept their pension at full rate, that's whats huge. they are the last nmfa carrier offering a full pension, and its hard to compete against non union carriers with that cost hanging around their neck.
all these carriers have major holes in the compensation package anymore, except ups freight. either a place has insurance that's expensive to pay for, or they don't pay overtime, or they pay it after something other than 40, or they have no realistic retirement plan, etc. truthfully, ABF's vacation is small beans, at least they get the pay, good bennies, retirement, sick days, work rules, etc.darthanubis and bubbagumpshrimp Thank this.
