If it's your only option then it's your only option. My thing is that new drivers kinda get the short end of the stick as it is. So one of the few cards we can hold over a company's head, so to speak, is that we can leave because we have options and owe them nothing.

If you attend one of their schools, sure you can leave at any time. But if you have any remaining debt to them then they'll require you to pay it. Depending upon a person's situation that may leave them in worse condition than before.

Sure, I got mine on my own working for 11.50 an hour and 40 hour weeks. But I've no kids, and am classed as single. Hell, I still take up residence at my parent's house. I've no expenses. I know full well that most people seeking their CDL won't have the same situation as I.

Im just saying, if you can avoid having your company control your debt, do it.

Did the OP say anything about being homeless? Jesus, if being homeless is the only reason to go to Millis then that doesn't say too much about Millis does it?

North Georgia Tech has an excellent program. Location is Clarkesville, GA but they also have a campus in Gainesville. Very reasonable and they have some scholarships.

Read Post #2, shop around, then contact some good paying companies and ask if they hire new CDL grads from the cheapest school.

Here's some $60K jobs, make some phone calls:

    Schneider Bulk
    CTL Transportation
    SVTN
    Groendyke Transport
    Superior Carriers
    Trimac Transportation
    Tidewater Transit

If either of these companies hires from the cheapest school, then go for it. They're all good companies.
Schneider Bulk reimburses up to $6000.00 tuition and some of the others may also. Apply to as many as you want, then choose from the job offers.
