I'm not a driver yet but applied and pretty much got accepted to be a trainee. Ive jumped through all these hoops for them, went and passed the written portion including the required hazmat on my own, been to school orientation, passed the DOT physical...etc. I had a good clean record when all this happened, and then yesterday I slid on ice into a pickup truck. is there any hope?

Sure...there is always hope...don't know what else to tell you. Others will be along with answers...but at end of day it is up to the company you are applying to.

Sounds like an unavoidable accident to me.

I'm a furniture delivery driver it was in the company truck and it happened while back down a long shared icy drive. I tapped the bumper of the pickup and put a small dent in it. And its DOT foods

Did your little bump happened on private property? If it did, the police probably did not even investigate it and therefore, it is not going on your dmv. If it was me, I would tell your perspective employer exactly what happened and go from there. I doubt very seriously if this would damage your chance of getting the job.

Definitely tell your future employer. Better to hear it from you than someone else. It certainly wasn't am unavoidable accident and you don't claim that it was, but someone else suggested it. Own up to it, let them know you learned from the mistake.

I would say you're alright as long as you didn't receive a ticket and wasn't speeding when this happened.

Yes of course, you will be accepted for training run hard and put away wet and then left sitting so you will quit.
