This officer said I was to far over to give me a verbal warning and had no choice but to give me a ticket

snatch an end dump around and get many overweight tickets.i do.it is either bridge law or over axle. ga. is a nickle per pound.
i just used my trusty calculator and he allowed 400 lbs for the non working apu i have and the ticket was $69.00 i think so the over axle was around 1400 lbs on the ticket.Last edited: Feb 6, 2015

overweight only goes on your csa only if an inspection was done. and yes, mine was listed. happend BEFORE csa even started. which went back 3 years. so mine was only listed for 6 months. as it happened 2 1/2 years before csa.
as for the experienced driver thing. if the driver was a rookie in his first year. then yeah, the timeframe applies per years of experience, since he just got started.
as for the rest of us. well, that's self explanatory.BrenYoda883 Thanks this. -
Back in my rookie year of 1987(??) I got hit with an over-weight ticket in CA as well. But believe it or not, the cop was also a rookie. He looked at his boss (Lt) I think and the Lt said for me to go around back and shift the weight. I did, but I didn't do it enough, so I too had about 1,000 lbs over. I was told "sorry, but you're still over, and we do no give you a second chance to make another correction".
Back then my fine was $85. But tell you what, I appreciated the chance to make it right. Since I do not deal with scales any more, can someone tell me do the scale house's give you a chance to shift the weights nowadays? -
They gave me a second chance but same as u it didn't work I was still over
-
i've seen utah do it. for a flat that rolled across with 35,500 on a closed axle. they made him open up. in order to roll through arizona. don't know if he got a ticket. as i had left.

I got an overweight ticket at the Cottonwood scale.
Fine was $235.00 plus fix the overweight problem. -
Years of experience doesn't enter in to it in ANY WAY
Grouch Thanks this. -
All of you saying that overweight goes on your CSA need to post up the basic and point value assigned to it. Inspection or not overweight doesn't give points unless the Leo writes it up as something completely different.
x#1 Thanks this.
