I didn't let my mom's disease "hurt" me that much... I knew and understood what was going on in her head... and despite of her disease, we could communicate "well" with each other... Not saying it was easy to accept that "new" reality but I saw in that situation an opportunity to give her some attention and love and care that I have never given her before... without expecting anything in return... and that was a gift for me that I will never forget... I know she always loved me more than anything in life and the fact that she couldn't recognize me anymore was just caused by the disease... We had great and deep conversations, spiritual exchanges during her advanced stage of Alzheimer's... it doesn't really matter that she couldn't recognize me any more... Our love and connection to each other was much stronger than any disease... I know that for sure. :biggrin_25519:
