    Hi All,

How often are you or your broker are put into a situation where you need to find an alternate temporary storage warehouse as a result of missed or refused delivery? How do you find an acceptable drop location?

Or lets say you have several pallets of overages/refused product (no fault of your own) that is left on your trailer and the cons wont accept it. Does this happen often? What is the process for getting the freight taken off your trailer so that you can move onto the next load?

    Thanks for any insight!

The one time this happened to me, I called my company, they called a broker (who set up the load in the first place), then they instructed me to go to another warehouse to be off loaded. From there, another trucking company took the load to the first warehouse. I was told however, that since this was beyond our control, we still got full payment. From what I was also told, that first warehouse? Got charged a second time. HHMMM, I wonder if they refused any more loads after paying twice?

Broker will probably call the receiver first and try and talk them into taking it.If not you may sit there for a few hrs till he finds a location.

Once I had 17 cases of frozen turkey breast as an overage. I called a local church food bank and they came and grabbed them. It was close to thanksgiving so it went to a good cause.

a food plant rejected my load due to some sort of contamination that they found while off loading it was large bags of flax seed that they load outside on an out side dock...go figure there was some dirt on a bag.,, they stamped my paper work and re-sealed it.

15 hours later we took it back to the coustomer where we loaded it. full payment there and full payment coming back.
