Parked Here for the Night

Ok folks... My co. authorized my FMLA... and they said will "hold" "my" truck for me...
But told me to come back as soon as I can... Which I intend to... I haven't gone yet and already miss the truck and the road in the big truck....
But looking forward to see my old dad...
So... bought my ticket today... For 02/23.... the earliest after Carnaval... so I wouldn't have to spend more than $ 3,000.00...
Rented a small straight truck to take all my things from the big truck to my storage in TN...
Thought I would be able to start moving my things this evening and still sleep in the truck tonight...
But mechanics were still working on the truck and will continue tomorrow.... They replaced the DEF tank...

So... co. told me to go to nearby hotel that they are paying...

So... here I am...



It may take almost one full day for me to move "my home" out of the truck... and will clean it inside...
Then, 12 driving hrs... with no elog to TN...
Will have over one week to get ready, pay all future bills, IRS taxes, gather all the documents and everything that will need to take with me, etc, etc...
Then, will go from TN to Atlanta airport... Departure in the evening...
On 02/24 will arrive in Brasilia, federal capital of Brasil and will change planes after 3 hrs... and then proceed to Fortaleza... a total of 11 hr flight...

From there, will take a cab to bus terminal and then, a 5 hr bus ride to a small town near where dad lives...
And then, someone will go pick me up and take me to his town, about 30 mins away... That's a freaking middle of nowhere...

I will be one exhausted worthless traveler... but hopefully, will be with my dad on 02/24 late at night...

 

Well if you were a Breaking Bad fan you won't be disappointed. A little slow build with a huge payoff at the end

 

Whereabouts in TN will you be Rocks?

 

I think there will be a breakout of Rocks withdrawals over the next couple of weeks.......

i havent seen my dad since i was 12....my mother for many years as well....they are both nuts and its MUCH better this way...but still miss what should have been

 

It will be more difficult for me to visit the forum while staying with dad... there's a computer where he lives but the internet is VERY slow and doesn't work all the time...
But after one week with him, I will fly to up state Rio for some business, and will stay at hotel with wi-fi....
A couple weeks later, will go back to middle of nowhere to stay with dad again...
And after that, will fly back to up state Rio...
Have A LOT to do while in Brasil... but will continue visiting this forum...

 

I'm sorry Giggles... But I can understand that...
I left my parents' home when I was 18 cause I couldn't endure being around them any more and I really needed to hit the road and "break free" from their environment, and ideas, and rules and things I considered "crazy", etc, etc...
But thank God, time and life changed us all... And we were able to get closer to each other thru the years and build bridges and communicate and overcome the grudges and heal the wounds... and express the love that we had/ have for each other...

 

Keep us posted Rocks - pictures are good too .... they're like pop-up books for us old guys !!!
