I had no idea what I was getting into..
Went OTR, to aggregates, to the oil fields, and back to aggregates. It took me 6 years to hit my stride. It wasn't easy. I learned to love it. Can't imagine doing anything else, now!

Yeah. I started off hauling chemicals. Mostly oil fields fracking and mines. Coming out of jersey i got good miles. The mines were brutal. Once in a while go to the old mines in utah n oregon. They were a pain in my ###. But a good experience all together

if you are a recent grad there are a good number of companies that will bring you on. They will ask you to train with them. Keep in mind sme pay some dont. School means they taught you how to drive. Training teaches you the way the company wants you to do the job. Just some insight.

Not to mention the ones who get you a cdl. Then you have to sign a contract of stay or pay

Most have stay or pay, the big difference is the amount they want and the term. Siging on strt the 23rd. They have a year commitment and pay through training.

You can always pay for a private school yourself if you don't want to promise to pay them back. Please, look for those companies who reimburse for training. It makes a big difference. I paid for my refresher course, got on with a company that reimbursed $150/month, (Swift) stayed long enough that I wound up with a free CDL plus the experience involved. Swift paid me $450/week during the OTR training experience, which helped get a quick start generating income.
