Here is another link showing that the Virginia 2 hour limit was lifted. Drivers are allowed to get their 10 hour break at Virginia Rest areas.

So in the end, after you pretty much wasted your time complaining, you still got no where's for your efforts? Oh sure you got "calls" from brokers and such, but in the end, did any of those people help the cause of timed parking?
I think I would have wasted my time doing other things that mattered most to me. As far as parking, the signs were posted. Leave after 2 hours. What you should have done was, find another place LONG BEFORE your driving time was coming to an end. As even the FMCSA, basically said to you, "TOO EFFING BAD".
Either poor trip planing on your part lent itself to your situation, or you think that posted signs mean nothing. The 2 hour limit may be only for a "quick break", nothing else, otherwise a 2 hour limit would not have been posted. -
G.Anthony, don't straddle the fence man. Tell us where you really stand on the issue.
-
Yeah, huh?

A 2 hr parking limit is ridiculous especially for trk driver,.that trk is their home. They want the drivers to obey the HOS but yet has that stupid sign up.Some don't enforce it like others but I won't chance it,anything I hate is getting woke up.

I think I remember a rest area in I80-W west of North Platte, NE with a 2 hour limit sign. I understand why. There was only enough room for 5-6 trucks parked end to end. It was a very small rest area.
-
I noticed Oregon posts a 12 hour limit and New Mexico posts a 24 hour limit.
California has some posted with 8 hour limits which date back to the old HOS.
Illinois has signs hinting that you're welcome to stay for your 10 hour break. -
Mr Anthony, no poor trip planning,, delays crossing WV and with 4 truckstops in Raphine I was sure I would find a place too park,,too many local trucks parking at night in truck stops and a lack of truck parking for over 30 years all over the east coast, It would also help for drivers to properly park in truck stops too.
3 million accident free miles,, 1 1/2 million doing oversize! -
I remember when Indiana posted that closed weigh stations were a truckers safe haven. I always appreciated that.
-
yeah, ok, I thought maybe not too good trip planning, and yeah, the east is not ever known for abundant parking for sure. Which is why when I did OTR, how amazed I was at the truck stops west of the Miss.River.
Good for you on the 3 mil miles driving, I may only have about 2.4 million now, and frankly, as my sig says, hope to retire soon so if I work it out just right, I will NOT make it to 3 mil. I have no gumption to make it up to that number, and only get to talk about it, no gold (or gold painted) watches for me!
As for piss poor parking? Brother, you ain't joking now are you? Why I see "perfect parking" every where I go.
I mean, how perfect can one get, to take up 2 spaces and NOT hit anything besides them? lol
