Interesting how both you and Victor_V had similar experiences at Gordon.
Both were paid per mile on short runs and felt underpaid. Carriers usually charge shippers a bit more per mile for short runs. I think they should have paid hourly or had an hourly minimum.Last edited: Feb 11, 2015

567 miles today including a relay and three trips through Chicago and a drop and hook. Shut down with seven minutes to spare. At the Amherst service plaza in Ohio on the west bound turnpike. Rocking out with The Hot Chick to Styxx and the Eagles on the vintage radio station.
Headed to Allentown, then pick up in York PA, then Cheshire CT for delivery, then deadhead to Buffalo, then Chicago for drop. All drop and hook. All by midnight Saturday central. Today put me three hours ahead of schedule. I should be able to pull it off.
Weather permitting.
The Hot Chick is grooving on this expedited stuff; she likes the fast pace combined with the long hauls. She isn't considering driving, mind you. She mostly likes us not cooling our respective heels waiting for clerks and dock workers to set us free to run.
Thanks for the heads up on the stats; I had no idea. I'm just an ersatz writer with a story to share. Thanks for all the encouraging words. Most of all, thanks for reading, and thanks for joining in a positive discussion. You're all keeping this from becoming one of those bashing flame war threads, and keeping things on a higher plane, and I appreciate that.
Stay tuned....Dominick253, jlind, ampm wayne and 2 others Thank this.
