There was a post on indeed.com about Millis and the cameras. This person was not a happy camper.

I dont like the cameras but they don't bother me. I just ignore them. At night I pull my window curtains and the cameras are blocked. I don't care what they listen to. It's thier name on the truck. When it's my name, then I'll dictate what goes in my truck. Until then, I work my ### off and I don't even notice the camera mmost of the time.

How far into the northeast does Millis go?

We don't cross the Canadian border. Anything else is fair game. We go to all of them

I'm hoping when I get done with orientation next week they will have a fresh out of the wrapper 680 waiting for me. Starting at .40/mi I cannot complain. Look forward to be out there as Mr. Sinnizter would say, "grinding".

They almost never give a brand new truck to a new hire. It might happen .00001% of the time. They have about 100 empty trucks. They will most likely put you in one of the oldest of them and upgrade it as it comes due for trade in. However even Millis' old trucks are in very good condition and well maintained. It's the new...out of the wrapper trucks that are in the shop all the time.

Steven, follow your youtube postings all of the time and I knew from past experience you came on here sometimes too. Thanks for the info in this thread you started. Millis is on my short list when I get started as I live near the Weedsport Terminal.

Everything I have ever found in my research about various companies was that Millis is one of the best OTR companies according to most that drive for them. On the camera issue, I gathered from the tone of some of the posters there is more to the story behind the bashing. Not saying I would like a camera pointed at me while I work but as you said, it's their truck. And you can pull the curtains when off duty which is something no one pointed out until you did.

There are cameras in many work environments. I also think the cameras will eventually become more prevalent with more companies as time goes on. Thanks again.

Thanks for the comments and thanx for watching the videos. There is a lot of misinformation about the cameras and a lot of people making comments who really have no clue what they are talking about. Millis is not a perfect company. But like any company, it's what you make of it. It's a great place to start, they treat me good, I get good miles and I do my best to help anyone coming into the industry all the time, but is everyone happy here?

No. Why? Because everyone is different, everyone wants something different from trucking, everyone expects something different from a company they work for. Not every dispatcher is as good as Pat, not every driver is willing to run as hard as the next, or manage his clock, or pay attention to schedules, so some drivers just don't make it.

The sad part is when someone cannot make it at Millis...because it is demanding...and then they spend the rest of thier life blaming Millis because THEY don't have what it takes. You look at what they choose to complain about...it comes down to making excuses because they suck as an employee. But it's the COMPANY'S fault because they can't make it.

    Yeah...riiiiigght.

This is a copycat industry, trailer skirts and tails, electronic logs, cameras to name a few~before long this will be SOP for all trucking companies~I agree that this job is what you make of it, there's going to be some bad days, but for the most part a lot of good days IMO

I've been with Millis for 20 months. Have camera in my truck for about 14 months. I get good miles 3105 this week and was home 2 days.. i have the best dispatcher there, Jim W is great. I'm in a new 2015 T680 automatic. I don't think you could work for a better company. I drove 111000 miles last year and go home 4 days every 18 days. I think i will be here for awhile.
