Lol, this coming from your 0-1 years of experience?

I hate driving at night. I just plan accordingly and try to drive during the day as much as possible. Doesn't always work out that way, but most of the time I'm solar powered.

Woah don't overwhelm me with your three whole months longer than me. And no, it doesn't always work out that way. Thanks for agreeing with my point.

How do you like working for them? How would you say the pay compares?

Ethos has a thread up comparing them.

Its difficult to "compare" pay. Different jobs pay for different. The job I do pays anywhere between 2 and 3 times as much as I was making at Schneider.

No comparison on pay, Trimac wins by far. I make more with less miles than I did on a 3,000 mile week as a trainer with Schneider.

How difficult is it to hit that $80k mark with Trimac as a regular OTR tanker?

Hard to say as I know very little about the day to day operations of a branch driver. Storm and I can really only tell you about the Elite side of things. For me 80k was very easy to hit. But I've never heard any complaints about pay from anyone.

That sounds promising, what's the difference between the 'Elite side' and the rest?

It's kinda tough to explain, basically we go where capacity is needed quickly. There is more but it would take a while to explain. It's hard to get hired on with Trimac and even tougher to get on Elite. I brought 7 guys to their attention and only Storm was hired but he has a ton of tank experience as well as a great record. According to your profile you don't have any experience, if you get hired by Trimac you would be doing better than 95% of new drivers out there. There is no way you would get on Elite as you have to have 2 years experience or a year with an approved school. Those are the minimums but the reality is that everyone on the Team has years of bulk experience. They have more applications than they could ever need as well as branch drivers trying to get on.

Best advice I can give is this, no matter what go tanker and stay tanker. You can cash that tank experience in for a bunch of money. Trimac isn't an impossible goal, but you might have to put in time. Trimac isn't the only great tanker company either, Superior is excellent as well and I have never heard any of their drivers complain. Heniff, Wynne etc all have outstanding reputations.
