Well most of us recently went up to .42-.44 a mile. Now they are turning the trucks down from 70MPH to 64MPH. i sure do hope they give us more time on some of these loads no more doing 660miles aday with a 64mph truck...
We got a raise and trucks turned down.

Hi TruckerPete, sounds like 1 step forward and 2 steps back. I can tell you right now, if you are used to going 70, and now are relegated to 64, it will be the kiss of death for you, job wise. With the way people drive today, 64 mph is a hazard, and people that make that decision to cut back trucks, never spend any time in a truck, and are probably just looking at numbers. You can bet your sweet bippy, they will still expect you deliver the same performance with a 64 mph truck as they did when you went 70. Best of luck to you.

if you run the numbers as just numbers you will see that you lost a little money. howerever it is does not take into account the times you cant make delivery, get home until the next day,ect ect, now the driver is going to have to eat that part because your company sure is not going to help you with that. plus they will get a pretty good reduction form there insurance carrier,i am sure they will not share any of that with the driver. lots of luck and b safe
