Short answer... Probably.... I also got my CDL without school with "on the job" training in a log truck. The only driving jobs I could get at first were kinda shady deals hauling logs or dump truck. When I began looking for a real long term driving position, I had very little luck for a long time and even considered community college driving school or a starter company that would send me through a training program as if I didn't even have a CDL. I have since found a job that involves driving so it certainly isn't impossible, but it may be difficult.
Getting cdl jobs without school?

Actually, you're way ahead of the game by already having a CDL.
If you go with a company CDL training program; some let you graduate early; not all do though. Either way, the companies will be happy to have a new guy that already has a CDL.
Try these:
Earl Henderson Trucking
Conway Freight- Romulus, MI
Corrigan Moving Systems - not sure if they will work with you or not, but worth checking into. This company is based in Michigan.Last edited: Feb 13, 2015

I am certainly glad that I didn't have to jump through all the hoops and over the hurdles you newbs do. I was simply pointed to a truck and got in with my ga. class 5,ducking going under the overpasses and unable to back a non power steering cab over.
look at me now. i am posting on the leading truckers forum. did i just ease through an eternity as related to time or was it fast paced? time to ponder.
OP- you can get on driving without formal,if that's what they call the driving schools, training, but you will have to pound the pavement and knock on doors presenting yourself in person. best of luck."semi" retired Thanks this. -
