are you coming on as company or lease? I believe the 8000 series lease they start you off on a 660 (which are nice trucks) button tuck interior. .13 Speed trans. . Then as the 680s come available they move you over. .
Company is luck of the draw brother. Friend of mine (Stormy379 Bill) started as company driver little over a year ago. . They just moved him to a brand new Cascadia. -
I hope I will be able to start in March. I need to have cataract surgery first and lose a few more lbs. I'm a little undertall for what I weigh now, but the diet is working, and I'm losing the weight. No sleep study for me, I hope. How tough is the physical for company drivers anyway?
-
I just did my DOT physical in October. . It was a little more involved than I was used to. .But nothing strenuous. .Basically did some balance tests. .eyes closed, arms out then they pulled and pushed on my arms?
If I remember right, someone commented on here that theirs was more than what I'm describing. .I think it depends on which doctor you get.
No big deal. -
going for the lease i live in Atlanta do they have good lanes out here?
-
Oh yeah. . We goto Georgia a lot.. I'm heading to Newnan GA now (or tomorrow morning)..
-
can tell me what is 4000 or 8000 lease
-
I'll share what I know till Jag gets back ...
The 4000 is a regular lease meaning it has a set payment every week regardless of wether you work or not, drive 100 miles or 3000 miles. Weekly payment is the same.
The 8000 lease is based on the miles you drive each week. It does have a set payment for insurance, tags and such but the tractor payment fluctuates based on your miles. The more miles you run the higher the truck fee is per week.
Thats the basic jist of it but Jag will fill in the blanks -
WHAT kind of trucks for company i live in ohio what home time can i ex[ect live below zanesville any info on orientation thx i appreciate all info
-
Company trucks are mostly KWs, T660s and T680s also a few Freightliner Cascadias
Hometime - I was told I would be home every other weekend for 3 days. I live in the Carolinas.
No idea about Ohio but my guess is no worse than my hometime
Orientation - Held on Mondays and Wednesday's, so I guess they are 3 days. I also know they have a $3500 sign on bonus(company driver), at least that's what they offered me. Hope this helpsLast edited: Feb 14, 2015
