As title states Volvo d12 not cranking. Turn the key to the start position and the starter clicks and nothing else. Will not click again unless key is turned back to the off position. Starter has been changed to new with same problem occurring. Batteries load checked and are good. Checked cables and connections. Little puzzling where to go from here. Also checked fuses relays and as much wiring as possible. Thanks.

I am guessing you cleaned the connections at the batteries but have you also cleaned the ground at the frame side?
Also old cables can have high resistance from corrosion inside the cables that you can only see if you cut them open.
This happens all the time on older cars and people can not get them to crank over. Replace the cables and it cranks like new.
Oh your cables are like 14 years old!
