My understanding is that Towne Air Freight was bought by Forward Air. I was thinking of leasing on with Towne Air Freight. Does anyone have any experience or know anything about either of these companies ? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Have a friend who leased to forward air last summer,,he said it sucks,,they are just like most of the other freight hauling companies cheap rates
Lug-Nut Thanks this. -
Thanks for the input. Anyone else have any experience with either of these companies ?

We have worked for both companies. We started with Forward Air back in 2002. We worked for them for 8 years. The company has steadily gone downhill in the treatment of drivers. The will sit the teams making the higher pay and give loads to teams making less, just to line their pockets. Towne Air was a great place to work. Nice people, good miles, but we got rid of our truck and went back to a small company that gets us home every weekend for two days and we still net over $8000 a month. I wouldn't work for FAF again if it were the last company on the face of the earth. Drivers we know that are still there are looking to leave!

So I guess if Towne Air is now owned by Forward Air, it probably would not be a good move ? 24yrtrucker, were you at Towne Air at the time they were owned by Forward Air ?

We left before FAF bought them. I would check with CEVA before FAF.

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at CEVA.

Your right they are bad to work for. Towne takes as much as they can from IC drivers and I'm sure forward air will follow in their footsteps. So much fowl play by terminal managers and no ones watching them and what they are doing

I know a guy who used to work at Towne Air who works for the same company i do now... and i know someone who parks at our terminal that works for towne air(Owner operator)................... ITS ALL ABOUT SENIORITY.

Doesn't sound like a good place to bring my truck based on those comments. I've decided to pass on these guys.
