Hey Mattaponi Guard, things are going ok here, driving for a regional carrier, home everyday, a few hours to catch some sleep and a shower, the hours are rough and the pay isn't what they described but for now it will do. I see Van Wyk's trucks going up and down the highway, man yall drive some nice equipment. Hate it that the company wouldn't let me take my truck home for my time off. Seems yall must haul frieght into or out of the Walmart Distribution center in Gordonsville, VA, I see yall's trucks there at the truck stop all the time. Hope all is well with you!

Man, this thread use to be good times.... I caught myself reading through this one night..
-
Haha...miss you guys too. Without getting into specifics and getting anyone in trouble (feel free to PM as well) how have rates been since I left 3 years ago?
-
Rates have gone up on two shippers, you know who. Otherswise, much of the same. Brian, hope all is well in your world?

I have heard alot about Van Wyk except do they touch freight on percentage pay or do they hire lumpers 100% no touch freight??? Also if your looking for truck stops in the NE, go to truck stop apps its free or buy truck stop book at truck stop.t
-
Hey John, we use lumpers unless your feeling frisky and the company will pay for your effort. The pay won't be as much as the lumper fee so it's better to save your back. I'm familiar with the Northeast truckstop situation: it sucks.

Oh right. Larry you need to look me up on fb if you're on. You're out of the loop! 3 months ago we had our first child, a beautiful baby girl, Emily. Also I bought my first baby, a 2000 FLD 112 day cab with a C12 Cat. I left JB simutaneously and am working for an independant dray carrier. So unfortunately still running the rails. Its going good but not as good as i hoped. I'm not rich yet; I have no money for chrome, chicken lights, and go-fast/fuel mileage-parts; and I blew a wheel seal today on my first load and had to give up 3 more. It's a long way to the top, if you wanna own your own! (AC/DC)

Sounds good, and a new father of 2? Going owner op, good luck. Hang in there, I'm sure you'll do fine. Me, well 5 grand children with number 6 on the way. Looking for a new adventure, tired of the Northeast.
