Yes you are right power to light off the boiler be it fueled by gas or oil.
Mine uses oil for heating water that is then pumped to an air handling unit that blows hot air to 2 zones so I need power for all that.
Now don't worry I have a fire place for when the power goes out to keep warm and yes I have dry wood stacked up.
Also when they get turned on I have solar panels that I hope will power the boiler/AHU.
Dave ----FLATBED Thanks this. -
Not worried I have been through a lot of power outages / ice storms using the fireplaces and wood stove to survive over the years. New shop / offices has a dual fuel boiler PROPANE and OIL allows us to burn our used oil on a hotwater to glycol exchanger system for the in floor heating all backed up with a diesel powered genset
