What road did that happen on? The 2 axel thing is news to me, I'm a local guy in VA and use the express lanes every single day! Also, what Police Dept got you? State? Curiosity, are these the new "express lanes" on 495 near the border with that cesspool DC? If so I've though that was bad wording on their part because in the rest of the state on toll roads the "EZ Pass Express" lanes are just the left couple lanes with no booths, VDOT needs to change the wording on that crap!

IF you get inspected, all violations will be on your PSP record. However, many violations DO NOT carry any points for CSA.

Violations that carry CSA points start around page 69.

Drivers DO NOT have a CSA score. A PSP Detailed Report will only show violations reported during an inspection. Any points are not calculated for the driver. The driver may have gotten points, but CSA does not give them a score. The only thing close to a score may be the OOS percentage.

Only motor carriers are given a score.

Kind of shocked at the responses here but it doesnt suprise me. 1 out of 3 drivers dont know what the heck CSA is or what it's made up of. Anyways, the company I work for is having issue with drivers that are speeding. These violations when given on an Inspection report go on BOTH the driver and the CARRIERS SMS(record). However, only the carrier gets the actual "score/consequence" and not the driver. Granted, the company that I'm at is hammering down on drivers and whenever they get busted for one of the CSA categories, they get fined for it. Every safety meeting, they literally go into depth and make everyone aware of CSA and how it hurts the company yet.. you have these individuals when getting stopped and given an inspection with a speeding violation.. "ITS ONLY A WARNING, TROOPER SAID IT DOESNT COUNT ON MY RECORD".

I have been stopped five times in the last 12 months. Every trooper has told me this same exact thing. By the way, all were clean inspections with the exception of two. It was overweight and one speeding 1-5 mph(SPEED TRAP US 30IN) but it still counts as a clean inspection towards the company so I got bonuses for those aswell. I asked the state trooper... "does this go on my CSA?". They all said the very same thing "DOESNT EFFECT YOU, ONLY THE COMPANY". Go figure. Either a) they dont want to give you the time of their day or b) they just know how to write violations and dont know how CSA works.

Did you know that if you get busted for speeding 1-5mph .. it doesnt show up on your CSA record or the companies record? Anyways.. alot of drivers i know in other companies and my company aswell.. PSP is being used more and more and has become an element of hiring drivers. Granted.... it even says when ordering a drivers PSP.. you cannot use it against a driver when it comes to hiring but when you run a driver's PSP record.. and you see like 5 log violations and 2 speeding violations.. would you hire him? lol

Idk what you guys are talking about. Drivers do get CSA points, if you get an inspection and the listed violations are on there. I would know I have points on my CSA. I have an a spotless record back to 2010 on my MVR. My CSA and PSP are a different story I have listed what I did in violations that were handed down to me and listed on the inspection. With that being said why do you think companies run your psp or csa? They want to see what you have done regardless if it was an actual citation or a violation listed on a inspection. Now, as for data Q that's a bunch of bull #### because I best my violation in court and then data q it and it's still there so whatever learn and move on.

as for the op take it to court no inspection then it's no on your csa or psp. But if you pay that it will be on your MVR because it's a ticket.

you're talking about the severity weight of each individual violation. I guess if that's how you want to put it points wise then it makes sense. but your average driver isnt going to know what that means. each company (I hope..) has its own set of formula and rules. one company i know has a system where if you reach over 50 points of severity weight.. you're GONE. Another company .. any violation you get that's driver related, you just get fined for it.

but i think the moral of the story is.. you do not want to get any violations on your CSA record! it will hurt you .. hurt you real bad as the industry gets much tighter with CSA2010.. insurance companies are now using CSA records more then you think. company i work with so far has had 3 drivers DQ'ed from the insurance for speeding violations and repeated log violations. it happens and it will happen.

Exactly. I think I mis understood myself. So let me explain. The CSA points are for the carrier. But the severity weight points go on your psp. So right now I have 60 which isn't good but they will fall off starting in April and I think another one in August for te next 3 years until gone for good.

Yes, you are right most of the carriers, not all. They are using psp scores instead of MVR but some aren't and are using MVR only. It's confusing, and on top of it the applications are confusing as well. They are asking for convictions. Well a conviction will be on your MVR. Psp is not a conviction. I've been turned down because of my psp by one company but I did go on and put my side of the story on by contesting it. They later called me back for an orientation date.

All i I have to say is. If you get pulled over it's going on your record some way some how. Unless like this op stated pretty much lucked out because I haven't gotten pulled over with out getting a inspection with a violation. So consider yourself lucky and get it taken care of and LEARN from it.

yes, defintly! OP should take this and run away with it and learn from it.

I learned my lesson when I first started driving with the company that gave me a chance fresh out of school and still with them today. Second week on the job.. i got stopped for going 6-10mph over the limit and I was issued a level 3 with a warning for speeding 6-10mph. The trooper said that this doesnt count against me as it's only a warning. so when i took the inspection sheet back to safety.. he was really unhappy. All I told him was "trooper said its a warning so it's ok.." He he sat me down and explained the consequences of these violations on the carrier's record and on my record.. i took this as a lesson learn and I have not looked back since. Promised him that I wont turn in any bad inspection anymore and I havent since. Lol. Seriously, these CSA violations are such a pain in the arse. It can change a good atmosphere with your safety to a tensioned one.
