All of the best Prime posters in this forum are reefer drivers, so there's not a whole lot of flatbed discussion around here.
Let us rise and have our own thread. Let us talk about our daily operations and help each other out. Let us talk about our chained up excavator loads while reefer drivers are hauling chicken nuggets.
If you're a Prime flatbedder, check in!

Erik Blazer and FullMetalJacket Thank this. -
But I don wanna!
Hey has anyone else noticed that commodity loads have just, disappeared? All I'm getting is machinery now. Not that I'm complaining, but 6 weeks ago was my last bulk goods load, I'm just NOW headed out to grab a charlotte load, and even it is paying decently.
Just weird. -
Time of year... the freight cycle for vans and reefers is at low ebb. There's more capacity than loads in those segments, and shippers get better rates from the door slammers this time of year.

So when they issue you 20 new chains I would only put 10 in the rack and keep the other 10 in the bags somewhere clean. If you ever turn them in they will buy them back as new if they are still in the bags. $$$
jomar68 Thanks this. -

I don't actually drive anymore, but ....hi?
Maybe some day. Eventually my company will probably outsource my department to India, so I'll probably be back.FullMetalJacket Thanks this. -
Garage in a box on the bed tonight...shippers totally screwed up the configuration, had pieces of steel totally lose on both sides, could literally push em out of place while they're under full securement.
"duh, rework can't be done till tomorrow."
thanks for costing me a sweet grand, vecro. GG.
>.< -
Asked the clerk in Pilot if they had tarp repair kits. Was told "no, we have duct tape though". Guess I'll have to get that the next time I'm at a Prime terminal or maybe at one of the Iowa 80 truck stops.
Dumb question of the day: What type of wood would you recommend making v-boards out of? -
I'm on my second week of TNT.... no chains during PSD and none yet so far in TNT; my trainer thinks we have a good chance of getting equipment/machinery after we unload in York, PA tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed... LOL
