Peterbuilt 387 Fuel Line question

    Pete 387 has Cummins ISX and 4 fuel lines, two from each tank that tie into a splitter that's back in the transmission area.
    Question is one set of the fuel lines is -8 and the other set appears to be -10 size. Which is supply and which is return?

    Ya, I called the Peterbuilt place and they told me the same thing.-10 for supply and -8 return.

    I'll ask another question maybe someone will know.
    I need to get these lines made because fuel is leaching through them but I can't find anyone here that will make them for liability purposes.
    Any idea with out having to go to the man?

    Just do a search on who makes hydraulic hoses in your area. They can make fuel lines also. Alot of napa stores can do it.

    A hydraulic shop is a good option if you have one close. Make sure to bring them the old hoses and have them make them the same length. Don't guess, routing them different to make up for extra can lead to fuel draw issues. You can make them yourself, just make sure it's fuel hose and get the the correct reusable ends. Be very careful routing them, route them exactly the same as you took them off.

    I had a hydraulic line made up but the fittings hole size was to small and it wasn't returning much fuel to the tank. -8

    You don't use hydraulic hose, a hydraulic shop usually has fuel hose and fittings too. Make sure they know that it's for fuel. I they don't have the right stuff, pass.

    If your local dealer is like mine,they don't stock many fuel lines,they have them made as needed. Ask the parts guy or shop manager who they use.
