Or there is always a slight possibility it was just a young cop exercising his newly found power. Who knows.

But if that were the case I should have about 4 or 5 or so parking tickets by now?

And on top of that I have been passed by multiple police cars while parked in the same spot without a word said the previous times parked there.

Well its best not to chance it any longer.Someone said ignore the ticket,I say ignore that advice. You don't pay the fine u may get your license suspended and not know it till a cop runs your license then sees its suspended then he puts you out of service, your company send another driver to come get the truck you have to find your way home so you can get this mess taken care of.Is all that worth it for the sake of one ticket?

Sometimes cops are just bored... or have a quota and you were an easy target. The last house I lived it I used to park my car in front on the street facing the wrong way. I knew it was a ticketable offence. I did it 2 years and one day got the ticket. I didnt cry about it. I just paid it.
Where I live now, in a condo community, I cant park in the lot. But I bobtail home and park on the city street during hometime. I drop the trailer at the company yard. I looked up parking regulations and technicaly I am not suppose to. No overnight parking in the street for commercial vehicles. I have done it for a year, about every 3 weeks for 4-5 days. havent gotten a ticket yet....but if I did its my fault and id pay it. If I go out of town, I do not leave it. I also get along with all my neighbors. Im known as that nice guy in 24.. He will help you out. They wont complain about me. I also asked everyone who lives right in front if it bothered them. Its called common courtesy.
I call and ask every time I want to stop at a Walmart. If I bobtail to the mall or a theatre on a 34, I always contact security or manager and ask if its ok. People like to feel like they have a choice. Almost always they say yes. its about respect. My dad always says kill them with kindness...

Pay the ticket, stop whining and look around for legal parking. Ask before you leave. Just cause someone else is parked there doesnt mean its ok.

El Paso has a city ordinance prohibiting overnight commercial vehicle parking on residential streets. The operative term is streets. If a commercial vehicle is parked on private property within the property line, it's perfectly legal. Parking in a parking lot not owned by the city is considered a civil matter and the police don't issue tickets. Most major through streets here that are restricted have signs that say "No Trucks Over 26'" which is often accompanied by "except local deliveries".

The one thing that keeps getting overlooked here is that you said you parked there for a 34. Trucks parking there overnight and being out of there early is much different than taking a 34 and perhaps that's why you got the ticket.

Many towns and cities all around the country have passed ordinances for years regarding commercial truck parking, and yet everyone seems surprised or acts like the victim for their own laziness. It's up to the driver to research where they can legally park........................ before he/she parks a truck.

Parking tickets are not written to the driver, period. They go to the owner of the truck. the owner could come after the driver but not the city or state.

According of Texas DPS a parking lot has to be posted in order to citable or a towaway.

In all my years of driving I have never paid a parking ticket, I leave them where they write them on the ground and drive away. Never have any of my employers brought it up, At IWX I delivered to Ralphs Grocerys off the I5 at Edenhurst, there is not street parking but yet Ralphs has no extra room, you can watch the metermaid roll thru ticketing trucks, as they pull into the driveway the drivers pell off the citation and send it to the ground.
